David Porteous is a Canadian solo singer/songwriter, music producer, filmmaker and multi-instrumentalist who currently resides in Toronto, Canada.
To say music is his life would be an understatement.

Now 31-years-old, David began writing music at age 11, had his first radio play on CBC Radio 2 at the age of 14, and has since created 29 solo music releases.

Over the years David has toured extensively in Canada, the UK, Europe and performed at top music festivals such as NXNE, CMJ Music Marathon, Music City North, Acoustic Edinburgh, and Canadian Music Week.

His passionate on-stage performances and lead guitar work have also landed him opening slots with many talented artists, including Emm Gryner, Peter Katz, Matthew Barber, Neverending White Lights, Rob Lamothe, Lindy, and Nellie McKay.

David Porteous is credited for six songs in the new feature film Boy Meets Girl, directed by Eric Schaeffer. Schaffer is best known for films like If Lucy Fell (starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Ben Stiller) and After Fall, Winter. Boy Meets Girl opens in theatres this Summer.

2015 will be an exciting year for David. He will be releasing two new studio albums, entitled Leaving April and 31. Leaving April was recorded at Sigur Ros' studio in Iceland.

Being no stranger to the studio, David produces all of his own material, and has produced over 20 albums for other artists. You will find him on tour this year promoting his new music at festivals and solo shows across Canada, the UK and Europe.

"Any project of such wide scope has potential for missteps,
but Porteous's earnest songs, which we literally watch him write
on the battlefields of Europe, bring some urgency to events that for
many of us are usually just pieces of history. And that's no small feat."
